September Card SKETCH!
This month,
Cassonda Tadlock
has done a really simple card sketch for us.. which I think is
perfect for the start of a busy school year! Plus the design is so
versatile as far as what products you could use for the circles
coming down the side of the card (buttons, brads, rhinestones,
chipboard shapes, you name it!).. lots of possibilities here!
Thanks girl for this fun inspiration! .
Remember to post your cards using her sketch in our NEW gallery!
Yeah! I am so excited to finally have a members gallery.. so lets
see your past and present cards from her sketches! See you over
there :).

so.. I don't know if you
remember or not.. but a few newsletters back I mentioned I was going
to make a Halloween Photo Carousel.. using the Photo Carousel
Rounders from 7Gypsies (on that particular day my Sister in Law's
website www.peachycheap.com
was having it as their one
day item.. for only $19.99 and it normally retails for $40.00!
so I purchased one of course! LOL ) and .. I had shared
this idea to create a Halloween rounder, that included all of the
past pictures from my children's Halloween .(and even old photos
of my husband and I before we were married)... along with
stories of past memories and also fun tidbits about Halloween and
scary Halloween ghost stories! I wanted it to be something just fun
for them to look at through the month of October.. and just remember
the holiday.. as the month went by..
So this past weekend.. I
attended a local crop we had here in Idaho Falls, at I Scrap,
for all of our local Scarlet Lime subscribers (BIG shout out to
all of you who came.. and made it a WONDERFUL time for me!!!)..
and the project I worked on was the Halloween Rounder!
I wasn't quite sure how to
go about tackling it at first.. as I had over 100 photos that I
wanted to use.... so I decided to first take each photo and paste it
(along with a little bit of patterned paper) onto each index
card (just photos and paper, no embellishments).. I thought
this would be easier, so I wouldn't have all of my embellishments
and papers out at the same time.. and it seemed to work out great! I
used papers from the new Chatterbox Artsylicious line, the
Cosmo Cricket Halloween line, and Teresa Collins new Halloween line
(all so perfect for this!) After I got that step
done, I put away the papers and started working on embellishing each
photo card..
I had been searching the
internet for the last couple of weeks trying to find the perfect
products to use on this project, as I wanted a very "vintage" feel
to it.. and so I was SO happy a couple of weeks ago, when my
SIL, Brooke, at
peachycheap posted this all in
one Halloween kit .. which included ribbons, stickers, buttons,
chipboard alphas, and more from Daisy's D's Vintage Harvest
Halloween line.. it was their one day item and all for only $14.99!
(the picture is at right).. of course I jumped on it before
it sold out and it ended up being PERFECT to use
for the project! It had so much stuff in it! Plus it had the very
vintage feel I wanted but some color as well.. I also
mixed in more of the Artsylicious line from Chatterbox (that line
is seriously so delicious! LOL).. and some "bling" from Heidi
Swap.. and I love how the pages I finished turned out! Here are just
a few of the ones I finished.. Colorful but still with a
vintage feel..
I still have so much to do,
I have only about 15 of the 100 photo index cards completely
embellished.. and I also found these cute little vintage postcards
from Daisy D's, as well as journaling cards from Teresa Collins and
7gyipes.. (you can see the picture down below at the right)..
I plan to use these cards to journal on and place intermixing
throughout the rounder between the photo cards.. I wanted the
project to have a very mixed media feeling, with pictures, stories,
journaling.. and more (I even have pocket folders, I plan to put
recipe cards in with fun Halloween goodie recipes).. I hope to
have it done by the first part of October.. I will keep you posted
on my progress!
Okay.. so the gals at the
crop on Saturday night.. were SO jealous of the fun little Vintage
Halloween Kit I bought from
www.peachycheap.com
that when I was up at my SIL's house a couple of nights ago for my
nephews birthday party, . I asked her if by ANY chance she had any
of them left or could order more of them.. because I wanted to give
one of them away in my newsletter tonight.. . I also told her there
were several girls at the crop Saturday night that wanted some.. and
so begged her to try and order some more.. well.. Being the
WONDERFUL Sister in Law that she is.. she of course said she would
get right on it.. but since their website only offers products
once.. she said she would do a special listing of the vintage kits
(as well as some of the 7 Gypsies Carousel Rounders) on her
Etsy site..
www.tatteredtags.etsy.com
.. she JUST listed them tonight.. and only you guys know about
them.. but they are limited.. so make sure you jump right over and
get them before they are out! Remember, they won't be listed
on her peachy cheap website.. ONLY her Etsy site.. which is
www.tatteredtags.com
. Also.. normally they don't ship
internationally.. but she said she gets so many request from our
Scarlet Lime Customers to ship international as well, that for
this week only, they are going to offer these (plus
some of their past peacycheap deals.. from the past month) to
all my Scarlet Lime international customers.. PLUS combined
shipping... So for international customers who want to view
the past products you can purchase.. here is the link
www.peachycheap.com/rss.builder.php
They will combine
shipping on any of these products, so to find out prices and
combined shipping totals, e-mail them at
support@peachycheap.com .
Thanks Brooke for doing
this! YOU ROCK!

I have had a lot of request
for more boyish kits.. and of course you know Fall is my favorite time
of year.. so I thought maybe I should do a fun, mostly boyish fall
kit! (Notice I only included ONE floral in the mix? LOL).. This kit
also includes a fun stamp from Jayla Campbell as well..
It actually matches well with
alot of the papers from our main kit, and the products in this kit do
as well, so you can mix the two to create alot of great fall layouts!
It includes products from Kaiser Crafts, Amy Butler, Sassafras lass,
Cosmo Cricket, Basic Grey, Making Memories, Adorn It, October
Afternoon and more! This is one of my favorite mini kits ever!
