Welcome to the Scarlet Lime Newsletter

Wow.. this year is flying
by and only 6 more weeks until the new year!!!... can you believe
it? December is coming up quickly and with it the hustle and
bustle of celebrating the Holidays.. and I can't wait! It's
a time for family, friends and celebrating life! I am really
excited about what we have in store for December.. I always love
our project kits.. but I think my favorites projects are when we
do Christmas themed ornament kits! I love handmade ornaments and
this year our project kit includes product to create 3 of them!
You are going to love what we have in store for our main kit and
our mini kit as well! Lots of brand new goodies from some newly
released product lines.. from a lot of my favorite manufacturers..
I can't wait for you to see the full reveal on the 1st!
In this newsletter you
will be able to see sneak peeks of what's in store for December as
well as some wonderful inspiration from our Scarlet Lime
Customers! Plus a worthy cause... for the Holiday season.... a
food drive that will help benefit everyone across the world.. put
together by a fellow kit club owner.. lots of fun prizes and
goodies to be given away.. and your chance to give back as well..
Plus a giveaway of our own! So read on for all the fun details!
I wanted to leave you with some of my favorite photos from South
Africa.. what an AMAZING experience it was.. I can't even begin to
explain it. To be able to share it with not only my husband.. but
one of my closest friends, Melody Ross (and her husband)..
was truly a spiritual experience. The ScrapPink event was a huge
success and a lot of money was raised for Breast Cancer in South
Africa. I met a lot of wonderful people at that event and had fun
teaching some new techniques there as well. It was fun for me to
get to know so many of those wonderful people! We also had
the pleasure of staying with Retha and Zander while we were in
South Africa. Retha owns a scrapbooking store in South Africa as
well as has her own TV show.. sponsored by Cannon, that is all
about telling your story. She took care of the four of us while we
were in South Africa and we had such a wonderful time getting to
know them and their family. They took us up north to Kruger Park
where we got to go on a Safari and see some of the most wonderful
sights I have ever encountered! We not only saw the BIG 5 (as
they say it- Rhino, Lion, Elephant, Leopard, and Buffalo) but
also got to see a cheetah and wild dogs which I guess are
extremely rare! Plus my favorites, which were the Giraffes
and the Zebra's... All by 1:00 pm! I was able to capture
most of our trip on film and video.. and even looking back now at
the pictures I took.. I get all teareyed thinking of the
experience we had! I was amazed at how green and lush our
surrounding where. So beautiful with the rolling hills and
mountains of green grass, and trees.. so different than what I
expected of South Africa. We also spent our last day in
South Africa, visiting a "baby" house.. an orphanage in South
Africa. They had 13 babies, and we got to spend an afternoon with
them, holding them and playing with them. Our husbands came along
too.. what a wonderful experience that was. We ended our trip with
a private crop and class at Retha's store the night before we
left.. which was just the perfect ending to our trip.. It was fun
to get to know some of the girls there a little bit better. I have
to say, this trip was truly one of the most amazing experiences of
my life. I already miss it.. though I can't seem to get rid of
this jet lag! LOL.. but looking back at these photos.. makes it
all worth it!
Thanks for letting me
share just a little bit with you! .
Have a wonderful week!

Making A Difference Food
Drive
I love it when the International Scrapbook
Community comes together to "make a difference" for the communities
we live in. This year Tricia at
Cocoa Daisy (a fellow kit club
owner), came up with a great idea on how scrapbookers can do our
part during this Holiday Season. She is holding an internet food
drive to help your local charities charities gather food for the
holidays and asked me if I would help! She is asking scrapbookers to
do their part to help their local food banks by bringing in whatever
they can spare, and in turn, to help drive this charitable giving,
will hold a fabulous drawing full of amazing prizes!! If
you would like to get involved, here's what you need to do:
-
Gather up your donation
and go to wherever you are donating it – a drop box at a school, a
food bank, your church, etc.
-
Then, take a photo of you
and your donation.
-
Upload it to the Cocoa
Daisy Gallery and include a caption with your email and the number
of items you donated.
-
For every 5 items you
donate, your name will be entered into the drawing.
-
If you would rather not
or are unable to physically bring food to a shelter you can make
donations through our store, in $5 increments, and those donations
will be distributed to food banks around the country. For every
$5 donated, your name will be entered into the drawing once.
-
On December 20th
we will close the food drive and draw winners for all the super
prizes from our very generous sponsors.
Tricia came to me and asked if I would help
spread the word about this and we have also come on as a sponsor of
some of the fabulous prizes she is giving away! They also have
prizes from Karen Russell, Tinkering Ink, American Crafts, Collage
Press, 7Gypsies, Chatterbox, Paper and Cup Designs, Luxe Designs,
Creative Imaginations, Clear Scraps, Glitz, Me and My Big Ideas,
Lisa Pace, Teresa Collins Designs, Petersen-Arne, CD Muckosky, Maya
Road, Pink Paislee, Simple Scrapbooks, Sassafras Lass, Hambly,
Christine Drumheller, Daisy Divas and Cocoa Daisy!
To find out more, you can also check out
the
Cocoa Daisy Blog.. remember.. to
upload your picture to the Cocoa Daisy Gallery (not the
Scarlet Lime Gallery) to be entered to win!

Since our Main kit isn't themed around the
holidays.. and our Project kit is themed more towards Christmas, I
thought it would be fun to center our mini kit around Winter and
snowflake fun! This kit includes brand new papers from the Sassafras
Lass line, My Minds Eye, We are Memory Keepers, Creative Imaginations
and more! Plus fun embellishments to help document those winter
wonderlands! I also LOVE the stamp Jayla did for this kit.. so fun and
versatile for a lot of things! (including cards!) |
