This layout was creating by
Courtney using our November main kit. I love the simplicity of
this layout yet the mix of pattern papers give it lots of
dimension... plus that picture just makes me smile.. thanks
Courtney! .

I was so excited when Ali
sent me this card.. I LOVE how she used the entire note sheet for
the front of the card! What a FABULOUS idea! For the base of the
card, she used just a portion of the scalloped eyelet paper from
Bazzill. The great thing about that is then she still had more than
half the sheet left over to use on layouts! . |

Here is another fun project
from Ali.. this also using the November main kit. This time she
created dang cute but simple layout by hand cutting out the flowers
from one of the floral papers and placing them onto the page using
pop dots. She also used the 7gypsies chipboard raw (with no color
added) and I love how it ties in with her background and the
brown in the flowers and creates a very urban feel. |

and finally, I know so many
of you ask why I don't do layouts with the kits each month for the
gallery... and to be completely honest.. the main reason I seem to
shy away from it is because I get so intimated by my own Artist
team.. they are so dang talented... I am not sure I can keep
up! LOL.. but I wanted to create something with the Velvet Kiss kit
this month because I LOVE this kit. I love the fun blend of patterns
and embellishments that are in this kit. They truly are different
with a very regal feel... and like one of my customers said "the
pictures don't do this kit justice". I especially loved the
velvet rubons from 7gypsies in this kit and I wanted to wanted
to show you more how to use them. I created some step by step
instructions and you can view them by clicking below. .

Shank Buttons!
As many of you know, most of our November kit
included shank buttons in them. Shank buttons are smooth on top (no
holes) and have a loop on the back instead. I love Shank buttons
because they remind me of really cool looking brads (without the
brad of course)... kind of like a "faux" brad.
One little trick I like to do with my shank
buttons though, is the cut of the back, use a glue dot to attach it,
so my button lays flat... thus giving it the look of a decorative
brad. Here are some step by step picture of how I do it. I found a
small wire cutter works really well for cutting the backs off the
buttons. Hope this info helps!

Who doesn't love a sneak peek!
Well as you know, we love to include exclusive stamps in our kits and
this month's main kit stamp is a 2 in 1 stamp! You get a decorative
frame stamp that can also be used as a journaling block, as well as an
oval ledger stamp with fun flourishes! |

This month
we have a VERY special add-on kit you won't want to miss. If you are
thinking about "giving" this holiday season, this is the perfect gift
and here's why... A few weeks ago, I was catching up with an old friend
who had moved to Washington. She told me was telling me all about her
new adventure and the wonderful people she and her family had met. One
friend in particular caught my attention. She told me about
Rochelle, who is a young mother and fellow scrapbooker... and was
recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. She has 3 small children and at
the time of her diagnosis, did not have insurance. I can't even imagine
going through something so life changing along with having the stress of
thinking about how to pay for all of your hospital bills, chemotherapy
and many other things Rochelle needed.. but she is one strong and
positive lady!
I felt so
strongly that there must be something I can do.. what WE as a
scrapbooking community can do.. so this is where the "giving" comes in.
I have pulled together some of the hottest products in our industry,
donated by of course the hottest companies in our industry.. that
make this kit ROCK. These kits will sell for $10.50 each (with a
retail value of over $20.00) and the entire proceeds of each kit
sold go directly to help Rochelle and her family and their rising
medical bills.
So not
only can you purchase a fabulous kit to give to a friend, a relative, a
teacher. (heck give them all one)... . BUT when you do, you will be
giving to Rochelle as well.
You can read more about
her
story here.. |
